Goals:
- To develop and promote interest in rug making techniques.
- To maintain high standards and encourage creativity in the art.
- To provide the means for an exchange of ideas and information among members.
- To promote educational activities to improve the quality of rug making techniques.
In the past we have visited a museum to view a collection of old rugs, visited rug hooking teachers, demonstrated rug hooking at a local quilt show and ag expo , taught a local group of girl scouts how to hook and provided them with supplies all in trying to meet our goals. We host a three day workshop with a teacher, voted on by members, once a year. We also host local teachers at our regular meeting occasionally for a “trunk show” or to talk about a specific topic.
